Apple Podcasts Now Accessible on Web Browsers in 170+ Countries

    Share

Apple has launched a web version of its popular Podcasts app, providing users with easier access to their favorite shows across all major web browsers, including Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari.

This move, announced on on Monday, allows podcast enthusiasts in over 170 countries to explore their libraries, discover new content, and manage subscriptions without needing the native app.

Previously, web-based listening on Apple Podcasts was possible, but it required navigating through Apple’s Podcasts Preview page for specific episodes.

With the new web interface, Apple says users can now enjoy a seamless experience similar to what they are accustomed to on the Apple Podcasts app.

The platform offers access to millions of shows, personalized features, Top Charts, and the ability to purchase premium subscriptions.

The web version syncs with users’ Apple accounts, ensuring that libraries, play progress, followed shows, and subscriptions remain updated across all devices.

Even without an Apple account, users can still browse and listen to podcasts, though personalized features like the Up Next queue and Library are restricted to account holders.

The launch of Apple Podcasts on the web aligns with Apple’s strategy of expanding its content services beyond dedicated apps.

Similar web experiences have already been introduced for Apple Music and Apple TV+. By adding a fully functional web interface, Apple is better positioned to compete with other podcast platforms such as Spotify, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music, which have long offered web access.
