Kano Hisbah Declares Jigawa Commissioner Wanted For Adultery

The Kano State Hisbah Board has declared the Commissioner for Special Duties in Jigawa State, Auwal Sankara, wanted for allegedly engaging in adultery.

The Commander General of the Hisbah Board, Aminu Daurawa, made this announcement during a press briefing in Kano on Monday, sparking widespread attention across the region.

The allegations stem from claims that Commissioner Sankara was caught in an uncompleted building with a married woman, leading to a scandal that has gripped both Jigawa and Kano states.

According to Daurawa, the allegations were brought forward by the woman’s husband, Nasiru Bulama, who accused the commissioner of having an illicit affair with his wife, Tasleem Nabegu.

Nabegu is reportedly the mother of two children with Bulama, and the affair has raised serious concerns about moral conduct and public trust.

Daurawa stated, “We received a series of complaints from the husband about the commissioner’s relationship with his wife. Through intelligence gathering, we were able to track them, and we now have concrete evidence.”

Efforts were made by the Hisbah Board to resolve the matter outside of court. However, only Bulama showed up for the mediation, while Commissioner Sankara reportedly refused to attend and later evaded Hisbah authorities after being granted bail.

“This is a serious issue, and we have taken it to court,” Daurawa confirmed, urging the public to report any suspicious activities in their communities to Hisbah for immediate action.

Bulama has called on the state government and relevant authorities to ensure that justice is served, expressing deep frustration over the emotional toll the scandal has taken on his family.

The case has stirred public debate about the role of public officials in upholding moral values and the growing need for accountability within government ranks.
