Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has broken his silence on a legal case that has been causing controversy within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The case revolves around a court order seeking to compel the PDP to hold its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting.

Governor Mohammed, who is also the Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, firmly denies any involvement in the court proceedings.

In a statement issued by Emmanuel Agbo, Director-General of the PDP Governors Forum, the Bauchi State governor made it clear that he had nothing to do with the court case.

Agbo emphasized that Governor Mohammed had neither directly nor through a proxy sponsored the legal action against the PDP.

“This is to emphatically state that the Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum and governor of Bauchi State does not in any way, either by proxy or himself, have anything to do with the said suit,” Agbo said.

He went on to describe the rumors as “dubious, malicious, and intended to smear the character of Governor Bala Mohammed.”

Agbo urged Nigerians and PDP supporters to disregard the false claims.

“We wish to state that the publication is dubious, malicious, and intended to smear the character of Governor Bala Mohammed,” Agbo added.

The allegations that Governor Mohammed had sponsored a court case first emerged in an online publication.

The publication claimed that the governor was behind a legal move to compel the PDP to hold its NEC meeting.

This led to widespread speculation that Mohammed was attempting to interfere in the party’s internal affairs.

However, with this official denial, the governor has sought to clear his name and dispel any doubts about his loyalty to the PDP.

The legal case is just one of several issues facing the PDP in recent times.

The party has been grappling with internal divisions and leadership disputes that have threatened its unity.

The National Executive Council (NEC) meeting has become a contentious issue, with various factions within the party pushing for different outcomes.

Some members of the party believe that holding the NEC meeting is essential for resolving the ongoing crisis, while others fear it could deepen the divisions.

The court case was seen by many as an attempt to force the party’s hand and accelerate the decision-making process.

However, Governor Mohammed has made it clear that he is not involved in this legal dispute.

Governor Mohammed’s denial comes at a time when the PDP is making efforts to reconcile its warring factions.

A crucial meeting was recently held at the Bauchi Governor’s lodge in Asokoro, where key PDP leaders gathered to discuss the party’s future.

The meeting included several prominent figures, including Governors Dauda Lawal of Zamfara, Simi Fubara of Rivers, Ademola Adeleke of Osun, and Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau.

These leaders are working to find a way forward for the party and resolve the internal crisis that has plagued the PDP in recent months.

The meeting at Asokoro is seen as a step toward unity, with the governors and other party members hoping to bridge the gap between the different factions.

As the Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Governor Bala Mohammed holds a significant position within the party.

His role involves coordinating efforts among the PDP governors and ensuring that they present a united front on key issues.

However, the recent allegations have put him in a difficult position, as they suggested he was undermining the party’s leadership by sponsoring the court case.

By denying these claims, Mohammed is reaffirming his commitment to the PDP and its leadership.

He has also expressed his desire to see the party resolve its internal issues without resorting to legal battles or public confrontations.

The ongoing leadership crisis in the PDP has raised questions about the party’s future, particularly as the country approaches another election cycle.

With the internal divisions threatening to weaken the party’s standing, there is growing pressure on the leadership to find a solution.

The role of the NEC meeting has become a flashpoint in this debate, as some see it as the key to resolving the crisis, while others believe it could further destabilize the party.

Governor Mohammed’s position as a senior figure in the party means that his actions and statements are closely watched by both PDP members and political analysts.

His recent denial of involvement in the court case shows that he is keen to distance himself from any actions that could further divide the party.

Political analysts have been following the developments within the PDP closely.
