    Ondo Poll: Disgruntled Candidates Should Seek Justice in Court, Says Tinubu

    President Bola Tinubu has called on dissatisfied candidates in the Ondo State governorship election to turn to the courts for justice.

    He made this appeal while congratulating Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on his re-election victory.

    The President also praised the peaceful conduct of the election, describing it as a testament to the political maturity of the people of Ondo State.

    In a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Tinubu emphasized the importance of maintaining order in post-election activities.

    “Those dissatisfied with the outcome of the election can explore the opportunities provided by the judicial system to seek redress on areas of conflict,” the statement read.

    The President applauded all candidates for their civility and purposeful campaigns, crediting the success of the polls to the peaceful atmosphere in the state.

    Observers have also commended the absence of widespread violence, a stark contrast to some past elections in Nigeria.

    President Tinubu hailed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its efficiency in organizing and conducting the election.

    “INEC justified the confidence of the people by uploading over 98 per cent of results on the same day,” Tinubu remarked.

    He specifically mentioned the Nigerian Police Force, the National Civil Defence Corps, the Federal Road Safety Corps, the National Youth Service Corps, and the military.

    “The professionalism of these security outfits played a vital role in maintaining peace and order,” Tinubu said.

    Their efforts have been widely recognized as pivotal to the smooth conduct of the polls.
