The argument allegedly centered around a demand for the vehicle’s particulars while he was driving with his wife.

“This death was needless,” Governor Okpebholo remarked, expressing his sadness over the loss.

He condemned the actions of the police officers involved and vowed to engage the Edo State Commissioner of Police, Umoru Ozigi, to address the conduct of officers across the state.

“It is painful that we have lost a soul in this manner,” the governor said.

He added, “I will talk to the police about their conduct so that they will behave well and conduct themselves well in the state.”

    A Nation in Mourning

The governor, accompanied by Acting NLC Chairman Bernard Joman Egwakhide and leaders of civil society organizations, signed a condolence register in Eboigbodin’s honor.

The late NLC leader was described as a pillar of strength in the labor movement, with an enduring legacy of advocacy for workers’ rights in Edo State.

His widow and family members expressed deep sorrow, highlighting the suddenness of his passing.
