A 25-year-old suspected terrorism financier, Aminu Hassan, was arrested on November 19, 2024, in Danja Local Government Area.
The police apprehended Hassan during a routine patrol along the Yantumaki and Kankara highway.
Officers discovered two pairs of military uniforms concealed in a black polythene bag during the arrest.
Hassan, hailing from Dundubus in Katsina State, is accused of aiding armed bandits who terrorize Danmusa Local Government and surrounding areas.
The Katsina State Police Command revealed this arrest during a press briefing on Tuesday at its headquarters.
Abubakar Sadiq, the command’s Public Relations Officer, described the arrest as a “major breakthrough” in the war against insecurity in the state.
“Fourteen pairs of military uniforms and one police uniform were recovered from the suspects,” Sadiq announced.
“These uniforms are believed to be intended for delivery to armed bandits to facilitate their criminal operations.”
Further investigations led to the arrest of three more suspects connected to the case.
The additional suspects are Lawal Ahmad, 29; Isma’il Dalhatu, 24; and Shafi’u Adamu, 28.
Ahmad and Dalhatu are from Zaria Local Government in Kaduna State, while Adamu hails from Danjaba Village, Soba Local Government, also in Kaduna State.
The police disclosed that all suspects confessed to the crimes during interrogation.
“The suspects will soon face justice in court,” Sadiq assured.
The police credited their success to professionalism and diligence in carrying out their duties.
State Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Musa, commended the operatives for their tireless efforts.
He urged the public to continue providing useful information to aid in combating insecurity.
Musa emphasized that the cooperation of residents is crucial in ridding Katsina State of criminal elements.
This arrest underscores the ongoing struggle against terrorism in the region.

The collaboration between locals and law enforcement remains vital in addressing the root causes of insecurity.
