Justice Azuka, a member of the Anambra State House of Assembly representing Onitsha North Local Government Area. As the state reels from the shock of the abduction, the police have reported a breakthrough in their investigation with the recovery of Azuka’s Ford car.
The vehicle was found abandoned along Upper Iweka Road in Onitsha, a bustling commercial hub notorious for its mix of high activity and security challenges. The discovery was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Anambra State, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, in a statement released on Thursday.

Ikenga disclosed that police operatives attached to the Inland Town Division have been working tirelessly to locate the abducted lawmaker. “The recovery of the vehicle followed an intense ongoing operation by police operatives,” Ikenga explained. He added that a separate rescue team, tasked with combing strategic areas, had spotted the abandoned car during their patrol.
He further emphasized that the Commissioner of Police in Anambra, CP Aderemi Adeoye, has directed all rescue teams to redouble their efforts. “The Commissioner has charged the deployed rescue team to intensify efforts for the possible rescue of the Honourable member,” Ikenga stated.
