The Ebonyi State Government has expressed pride in its strong performance in the 2024 National Examination Council (NECO) results, where the state ranked among the top three nationwide.
According to data released by analytics firm *Statisense*, Ebonyi secured a pass rate of 80.55%—measured by the number of students who scored five credits and above, including in English and Mathematics. The state performed alongside Abia and Imo, which also ranked high in the results.
Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Jude Chikadibia Okpor, hailed the achievement as a reflection of the state government’s investment in education under Governor Francis Nwifuru.
“This academic feat is a reliable pointer to the fact that Ebonyi people made the right choice in electing Governor Nwifuru,” Okpor said.
He praised the efforts of students, teachers, and stakeholders, and called for continued public support for the administration’s education reforms. He also hinted at more accomplishments to come as the government marks its second anniversary in office.
Governor Nwifuru’s administration has made education a top priority, with increased funding for schools, teacher training, and infrastructure development aimed at improving learning outcomes across the state.
