An Abuja Federal High Court on Monday ordered the remand of a woman, Ogechi Njaka, in Suleja Correctional Centre over allegations of sharing pornographic videos and derogatory content on Facebook.

Presiding Judge Justice Joyce Abdulmalik gave the remand order after Njaka pleaded not guilty to a five-count charge filed by the office of the Inspector-General of Police.

The prosecutor, Victor Okoye, representing the IGP, asked for a trial date, while Njaka’s lawyer, Samuel Ihenseken, requested bail for his client. The court fixed June 5 for trial and to hear the bail application.

According to the charge, marked FHC/ABJ/CR/02/2025, Njaka is accused of using her Facebook account, registered under her name, to post videos of a pornographic and indecent nature between 2020 and 2025. Prosecutors allege that the videos were intended to incite public disorder and pose threats to lives.

In one of the charges, Njaka is also accused of making false and damaging video posts targeting one Hajia Maryam Shehu, using her image and spreading derogatory comments meant to cause fear and disruption.
