Prominent Indian businessman and polo lover, Sunjay Kapur, has died at the age of 53 after a tragic allergic reaction to a bee sting during a polo match in England.

According to *The Mirror*, Kapur was stung on the mouth on Thursday, June 12, which led to a severe allergic reaction and cardiac arrest. Medical experts say bee stings in sensitive areas like the mouth can cause sudden swelling, breathing problems, and a dangerous drop in blood pressure.

The sudden death of Kapur has shocked both the business world and high society in India and the UK. He was the Chairman of Sona Comstar, a major auto parts company, and was well-known in elite circles, especially for his love of polo. He had often played in matches alongside members of the British royal family, including Prince William.

Kapur, who studied in the UK, was also known for being the former husband of Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor.

Just hours before his death, he had posted on X (formerly Twitter) expressing sadness over the tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad, showing no signs of illness.
