The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kano State Command, has dismantled several known drug joints in a major operation that led to the arrest of 17 suspects. The operation, aimed at curbing drug abuse and related crimes, focused on notorious areas in Dorayi, Gwammanja, Zango, and Ja’en.

Confirming the development, the command’s spokesperson, Assistant Superintendent of Narcotics Sadiq Muhammad, said the action was part of ongoing efforts to cleanse the state of hideouts that promote drug use and thuggery.

He noted that the NDLEA recovered various illicit substances during the raid, describing the hotspots as breeding grounds for crime.

“Drug abuse is one of the major causes of violence and social disorder in our communities. By dismantling these places, we are removing the root of many criminal acts,” Muhammad said.

He commended the State Commander, CN AI Ahmad, for his leadership and commitment to public safety. He also urged residents to support the agency’s mission by providing useful information and reporting suspicious activity.
