    Share

Borussia Dortmund secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over CF Monterrey to reach the last eight of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

The German side will face the mighty Real Madrid in the quarter-finals on July 5 at MetLife Stadium, New Jersey.

The match was physical from the start, but Dortmund’s attacking power made the difference. Karim Adeyemi was the star, providing both assists for Serhou Guirassy’s goals in the first half. Adeyemi’s clever plays helped Dortmund take a 2-0 lead before halftime.

Monterrey fought back early in the second half with a goal from German Berterame, making it 2-1. They pushed hard for an equalizer, with chances from Corona and Berterame, but Dortmund’s goalkeeper Gregor Kobel stood firm. A late goal by Monterrey was disallowed for offside, and Dortmund held on to secure the win.

Dortmund now prepare to face Real Madrid in what promises to be a thrilling quarter-final clash.
