The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old man, Adamu Abdullahi, for allegedly killing his own father, Abdullahi Musa, during a domestic dispute in Rumbuna village, Giade Local Government Area.
The incident happened around 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025. According to police sources, the argument between father and son turned violent, and Adamu struck his 60-year-old father on the head with a hoe.
“The suspect used a hoe to hit his father during an argument at home,” a police source said. The impact caused serious head injuries, and the victim collapsed instantly.
Police officers arrived at the scene quickly and rushed the injured man to the General Hospital in Giade. Unfortunately, he was confirmed dead while receiving treatment.
The suspect was arrested at the scene and is now in police custody. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
Police say they are working to find out what led to the deadly attack and whether the suspect acted alone or was influenced by any other person.
The Bauchi State Police Command has promised a full investigation and called on the public to remain calm while justice takes its course.
