Super Eagles forward Ahmed Musa will continue playing for Kano Pillars in the upcoming Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, even after being appointed as the club’s general manager.
Musa, 32, was named general manager of the four-time NPFL champions last weekend and officially resumed duties on Monday. However, the former Leicester City and Al-Nassr star is not hanging up his boots just yet.
He trained with his teammates at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Tuesday, signaling his commitment to lead the club’s attack in the 2025/26 season.
Despite his new administrative responsibilities, Musa is expected to bring his experience and leadership both on and off the pitch to help revive the team’s fortunes.
Kano Pillars, also known as Sai Masu Gida, are yet to appoint a new head coach following the departure of their former technical adviser, Usman Abdallah.
Musa previously played for the club during his early career and returned briefly in 2021 before rejoining European football. His dual role as general manager and player is seen as a rare but bold move in Nigerian football.
