English Premier League side Chelsea have earned close to £80 million after reaching the final of the FIFA Club World Cup.
The Blues secured their place in Sunday’s final with a 2-0 victory over Brazilian side Fluminense on Wednesday night. New signing Joao Pedro, who joined from Brighton for around £60 million last week, scored both goals in the semi-final.
Chelsea will now face the winner of the other semi-final between Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.
This marks another milestone for Chelsea under manager Enzo Maresca, who has already led the team to the UEFA Conference League title this season and secured qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano praised the Blues’ run, writing on X (formerly Twitter): “Chelsea have now earned fee close to £80m thanks to their FIFA Club World Cup performances, qualifying for the final. Excellent job by Enzo Maresca with UCL return, Conference League trophy and also perfect Club World Cup so far.”
Chelsea are aiming to win their second piece of silverware this season and add another major title to their history.
