The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released the results of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), also known as the Junior Secondary School final exam.
A total of 179,201 candidates sat for the exam, which covered 12 subjects and took place between May 12 and May 23, 2025.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Azeez Sani, Acting Director of Information and Public Relations at NECO, confirmed that the results were released after the successful conclusion of the BECE Award Committee meeting held at NECO headquarters in Minna.
Dr. Folake Olatunji David, Director of Basic Education at the Federal Ministry of Education and Chairperson of the Committee, expressed satisfaction with the conduct and processing of the examination results.
Also present at the meeting were principals from various secondary schools across the country and NECO management officials.
NECO has also announced that the resit examination for candidates who did not pass Mathematics and English Studies will be held on July 23 and 24, 2025.
