Popular Nigerian social media activist, Vincent Otse Martins, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has renewed his push for justice in the case of late singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

In a recent Instagram post, VDM explained that his renewed efforts are driven by his growing influence, larger following, and improved financial capacity. He said the time is now right to take the fight seriously, claiming that his movement, known as “The Ratel,” is the strongest in Nigeria.

“So you want to know why I started this justice for Mohbad again? It is because, unlike before, I have more engagement, influence, followers, and most importantly, more money,” he said.

VeryDarkMan also addressed criticism from those who believe he is chasing clout or trying to make money off the case. He denied these claims, saying he has already spent about N3 million to support individuals involved in the case, including giving N300,000 to Mohbad’s former driver and promising him a job.

He also claimed to have supported Primeboy, a key figure linked to the case, who he said has struggled since the incident.

“Dem think say the matter don quench, e never quench,” VDM declared, promising that justice for Mohbad is still possible and that his movement will continue pushing until it is achieved.

Mohbad, a rising star in Nigeria’s music scene, died under unclear circumstances in September 2023, sparking nationwide protests and online campaigns demanding a full investigation. The case drew attention to the pressures young artists face in the music industry and led to calls for reform and accountability.

Despite various efforts by police and state authorities, the case remains unresolved, prompting renewed action from activists like VeryDarkMan.
