Popular Nollywood actress and activist, Iyabo Ojo, has said she never accused anyone of killing late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad.
In a public statement shared on her Instagram page, Iyabo said the live video she made during the heat of the incident was not meant to point fingers at anyone but to demand a transparent investigation into the singer’s sudden death.
She made the statement after being invited by the Nigeria Police Force Cybercrime Centre in Abuja, following online reports and a resurfaced video.
“In that video, I only called for those mentioned in the case to present themselves for investigation. I never said anyone killed Mohbad,” Iyabo explained.
She also revealed that her foundation, Pinkies Foundation, officially wrote to government agencies, including the Lagos State Governor and Commissioner of Police, requesting a full coroner’s inquest and fair investigation into the case.
Iyabo Ojo also shared the personal cost of her activism. She said she has received death threats, including a threatening letter just days before her daughter’s wedding. Recently, she also discovered disturbing videos and images of coffins with her name being circulated online.
“Certain people have continued to wish me dead and incite violence against me and my children,” she said.
Adding to the pain, she revealed that her office was destroyed by fire and that all the stress has affected her health and emotions.
Despite all the threats and setbacks, Iyabo Ojo said she remains committed to justice for Mohbad and others who have suffered unfair treatment.
“Despite everything, I trust that God will ultimately give me victory over adversity,” she said.
The actress has received wide support on social media from fans and fellow celebrities, while many Nigerians continue to demand full justice in Mohbad’s case, which has stirred national attention since his death in September 2023.
