The Lagos State Government has changed the restriction time for movement during the upcoming Local Government elections scheduled for Saturday, July 12, 2025.
In a statement released on Thursday, the government announced that there will now be no vehicular movement from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm on election day.
This is a revision of the earlier time, which was from 3:00 am to 3:00 pm.
The restriction is part of efforts to ensure a smooth and peaceful election process across the state’s 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).
Residents are advised to take note of the new time and plan their movements accordingly.
Security agencies are expected to enforce the restriction strictly, and only those on essential duties will be allowed to move during the period.
The Local Government elections in Lagos are important as they determine the leadership at the grassroots level, where key decisions on community development and basic services are made.
