Romano: Man United Can’t Afford Osimhen’s Wages

Popular football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, has revealed that Manchester United are unlikely to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen due to his high salary demands.

There have been strong speculations linking Osimhen with a move to the Premier League, especially to Manchester United. However, Romano stated that the Red Devils are not in the race, mainly for financial reasons.

Speaking on his YouTube channel Thursday night, Romano said Osimhen’s salary is far beyond what Manchester United are willing to pay under their current wage structure.

“Osimhen is on €12 million net salary at Napoli and Galatasaray are ready to offer €16 million net per year,” Romano explained. “This is far above what Manchester United can offer at the moment.”

The Nigerian forward, who spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, is expected to sign permanently with the Turkish champions in the coming days. Once the deal is done, Osimhen will become one of the highest-paid players in European football.

Romano also confirmed that Manchester United have not made any attempt to hijack the deal, as the financial terms are simply too high.

Osimhen has been linked with several top European clubs in recent months, but his high transfer fee  reportedly around €75 million and massive salary have ruled out many potential suitors.
