Ghana Diplomatic Worker Dies After Brutal Attack in Abuja

Freda Arnong, a domestic assistant at the Ghana High Commission in Abuja, has died following a brutal assault and abduction in the Federal Capital Territory.

The Ghanaian High Commission confirmed Arnong’s death on Wednesday. She was a staff member working directly for the Charge d’Affaires of the mission.

According to reports, the incident happened on July 1 around 7:00 pm when Arnong boarded a taxi heading to Transcorp junction in Abuja. The taxi was reportedly occupied by four unknown men, and it later deviated from the agreed route.

Arnong was found in critical condition along Airport Road by a passerby who took her to the National Hospital. Sadly, she died from her injuries on Monday afternoon.

Her body was taken to the hospital mortuary for autopsy and preservation. The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Criminal Investigation Department has launched an investigation into the attack and is working to identify and arrest those responsible.
