President Bola Tinubu is set to return to Nigeria today, Saturday, after spending two weeks on official visits to Saint Lucia and Brazil.
The President’s spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the return in a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) account.
Tinubu left Abuja on June 28, 2025, beginning his trip with a state visit to Saint Lucia. The visit aimed to strengthen Nigeria’s ties with Caribbean countries and promote South-South cooperation—a partnership between developing nations in the Global South.
On July 4, Tinubu traveled from Saint Lucia to Brazil, where he attended the 2025 BRICS Summit held from July 6 to 7. The summit brought together leaders from Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa to discuss global economic and political issues.
This foreign trip is seen as part of President Tinubu’s efforts to boost Nigeria’s international relations and trade partnerships. Nigerians and political observers now await updates on outcomes from the visits as the President resumes duties at home.
