Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy has revealed that he does not see music as a job but as a way of life. The popular Afrobeat star made this known during a recent interview with BBC Radio 1 Xtra.
Burna Boy, known for hits like “Odogwu,” explained that because music is his passion, he doesn’t feel the need to take a vacation. “I love my job. I don’t consider my job a job. I consider it life,” he said.
He added that unlike people in physically demanding jobs who need rest, he sees his music career as part of his everyday lifestyle. “Why do I need a vacation from life? It’s not like I am a bricklayer or labourer. That’s what you need vacation from,” he said.
Burna Boy also joked that since he is still young and doesn’t have children, there’s nothing he wants to take a break from. His words highlight his dedication to music and how it shapes his identity beyond being just a career.
This statement shows the artist’s deep connection to his craft and the joy he finds in making music.
