Kaduna Church Massacre: Five Worshippers Shot Dead

At least five people have been killed and three others injured after armed bandits attacked members of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) during a church meeting in Kampani Village, Maro, Kajuru Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

The attack happened on Friday, July 11, at about 3:30 p.m., when the gunmen stormed the church while worshippers were gathered. According to sources from the Kaduna State Police Command, a Good Samaritan alerted security agencies around 9:20 p.m.

Security forces quickly deployed a combined team of police and other security operatives to the scene. Upon arrival, they found five worshippers who had been shot dead. The victims were identified as Victor Haruna, Dogara Jatau, Luka Yari, Jesse Dalami, and Bawu John. They were taken to a hospital where they were confirmed dead.

Three other worshippers—Samuel Aliyu, Philip Dominic, and Jacob Hussaini—were seriously injured and are receiving medical treatment.

Security agencies have launched a manhunt to track down and arrest the bandits responsible for the attack.
