Tragedy has struck the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA) in Ondo State as two missing students, Andrel Eloho Okah and John Friday Abba, have been found dead.
The two students, both in their second year, were declared missing by their colleagues three weeks ago after they failed to show up for lectures and other academic activities. Eloho was a student of the Department of History and International Studies, while Abba studied Economics in the Faculty of Agriculture.
Concerned classmates launched a search after one week of no contact and later reported the matter to the police. Sadly, over the weekend, their corpses were discovered in a bush located between a border town linking Akoko and Ekiti.
A security source confirmed the tragic news, stating, “It’s sad to inform you that the two missing AAUA students have been killed by suspected abductors. Their bodies were dumped in a bush, and our men are already there to recover them.”
The news has thrown the university community into deep mourning. A student who spoke on condition of anonymity said, “Yes, it’s true. Their corpses have been found. There’s darkness everywhere here; people are grieving.”
It is not yet clear what led to their abduction and murder, but investigations are ongoing.
The deaths of Eloho and Abba have raised serious concerns about student safety and security in the area, prompting renewed calls for stronger protection for young people on and off campus.
