Supporters of Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, under the banner of the Obidient Movement, have announced plans for a massive ‘One Million Man March’ across key cities in Abia State.

The march, scheduled for Friday, July 19, will take place in Umuahia, Aba, Ohafia, and Uzuakoli. According to a statement issued in Umuahia by Chibuzor Obiesili, a state coordinator of the movement, and Mr. Christian Emmanuel, Head of Media and Publicity, the event will commemorate Peter Obi’s birthday.

The group said the march is not just a show of support but also part of wider grassroots mobilisation for Obi’s political vision ahead of the 2027 elections.

They also expressed support for Obi’s reported alignment with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing the party as an “organic coalition movement” aimed at uniting Nigerians for good governance.

“Obi believes that to dismantle the structures that keep our people in poverty and insecurity, we must build bridges and not walls — even when those bridges are difficult,” the statement read.
