Galatasaray vice-president, Abdullah Kavukcu, has said that no one can mock the Turkish club anymore over their interest in Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen.
Kavukcu revealed that Osimhen is eager to join Galatasaray and even turned down “incredible offers” from other top clubs because of his desire to play for them.
This comes shortly after reports emerged that Galatasaray and Italian side Napoli have reached an agreement on the financial structure of Osimhen’s potential move, including payment plans and bank guarantees.
Speaking to the media, Kavukcu said:
“Nobody believed in us. We showed the world what Galatasaray is capable of. No one can mock us. No one can speak down on Galatasaray.”
He added that the Super Lig champions are now among the top clubs in world football.
“We are present at every table. If there are five clubs in the world today, Galatasaray is one of them.”
Kavukcu praised Osimhen’s commitment, saying the Super Eagles star remained firm in his decision to join them despite receiving better financial offers from other teams.
“Osimhen wants us badly. He rejected incredible offers because he believes in us.”
He also urged Galatasaray fans to ignore social media rumors and remain united, saying the club can achieve great things if everyone stays focused.
Osimhen, 25, currently plays for Napoli and has been linked with several clubs across Europe. If the deal goes through, it would be one of the biggest signings in Turkish football history.
