Tinubu’s Second Term Will Bury Nigerians – Amaechi Warns

Former Minister of Transportation and ex-Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, has issued a strong warning to Nigerians ahead of the 2027 general elections, saying the country may not survive a second term under President Bola Tinubu.

Speaking to members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition in Rivers State, Amaechi claimed that Nigerians are already suffering under Tinubu’s leadership and that re-electing him in 2027 could lead to mass hunger and death.

“Currently, Nigerians are complaining in President Tinubu’s first tenure; imagine what the second tenure will be like. Then, you’ll be dead and buried,” Amaechi said.

He also raised alarm over electoral malpractice in his home state, accusing powerful interests in Rivers of rewriting election results. He urged ADC members to take early action to prevent further manipulation in the next elections.

“Our state is notorious for writing results, and we must stop them. When people hear that results have already been written, they don’t bother coming out to vote,” he said.

Amaechi advised party members to begin grassroots mobilisation by registering new voters and preparing for the 2027 elections.

“We will form a committee to go from local government to local government, ward to ward, to know how many people we have. Encourage people to come out and vote for change,” he told the gathering.

Amaechi recently joined the ADC along with other members of his political coalition, signalling a potential new direction in his political career after previously serving under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

His comments have sparked fresh debate about the political direction of Rivers State and the broader national outlook ahead of the 2027 elections.
