The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced a last-minute change in the venue for its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting scheduled for Thursday, July 24, 2025.
Originally set to hold at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, the meeting will now take place at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa by 2:00 p.m.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, who said the relocation was due to “logistical reasons.”
“The All Progressives Congress (APC) announces that the meeting of the Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC), scheduled to be held on Thursday, 24th July, 2025, will now take place at the Presidential Villa, Abuja,” the statement read.
The change comes just hours after APC governors held a closed-door meeting at the Imo State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja. The meeting was hosted by Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, who also chairs the Progressive Governors Forum.
While details of the governors’ meeting were not made public, it is believed to be part of preparations for the NEC meeting, where major party decisions are expected to be discussed.
The NEC is the highest decision-making body of the party and its meetings often set the tone for the APC’s political direction, including appointments, internal disputes, and plans ahead of future elections.
