Brazilian football star and Santos FC captain, Neymar, was involved in a heated exchange with a fan after his team lost 2-1 to Internacional in a Brazilian league match on Thursday.
The incident, which was captured in a video now trending on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), took place at the Estádio Urbano Caldeira. Neymar appeared visibly upset and was pulled away from the confrontation by Santos goalkeeper, Gabriel Brazão.
Neymar, known for his passionate style of play, was at the center of attention during the match. Despite a spirited performance and nearly scoring an equaliser, he was unable to help his side avoid defeat. At one point, he broke the corner flag and attempted to tear his shirt in frustration after a close chance that didn’t cross the goal line.
Internacional took the lead with goals from Johan Carbonero and Rafael Santos Borré. Santos managed a late goal through Álvaro Barreal, but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome.
The loss leaves Santos struggling in 17th place on the Brazilian Serie A table after 15 matches, while Internacional now sit in 10th position.
Neymar, who returned to Santos after stints at Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, is under pressure as the club fights to avoid relegation. Fans have voiced their frustration in recent weeks as results continue to disappoint.
