    Ferdinand Backs Watkins Move to Man Utd

    Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand, has advised the club to go after Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins during the ongoing transfer window.

    Speaking on his Rio Ferdinand Presents YouTube show, the former defender said Watkins’ experience could help balance United’s young attack.

    “Ollie Watkins would be a very, very good addition to the Manchester United squad,” Ferdinand said. “He is 29, and that’s the only drawback because there won’t be a sell-on value, but the club needs experience up front.”

    Watkins had an impressive season with Aston Villa, scoring 17 goals and providing 14 assists in 54 matches across all competitions.

    United have already added forwards Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha to their squad this summer, but the club is reportedly still in the market for more firepower as they prepare for the new Premier League season.
