Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has described the emergence of Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda as the new party chairman as a timely and strategic move.
Yilwatda was appointed during the APC National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held on Thursday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Reacting to the development, Ganduje, who is also a former governor of Kano State, said Yilwatda has the “capacity, intellect, maturity, and administrative competence” to lead the ruling party at a critical period.
“I have no doubt that Prof. Yilwatda will move our party forward. His emergence at this critical time is a strategic development for the APC,” Ganduje said in a personally signed statement.
He also praised President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for their leadership and role in ensuring stability within the party.
“Our president and vice president have once again shown leadership in guiding the affairs of our great party,” he added.
Yilwatda’s appointment comes at a time the APC is working to strengthen its internal structure and prepare for future elections.
