Peter Obi Can’t Risk Returning to PDP – ADC

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has said that the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, will not return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), warning that such a move would be too risky for him politically.

Bolaji Abdullahi, spokesman for the ADC, made the statement during an interview on Arise TV’s Prime Time on Monday. He stated clearly that Obi is currently part of the ADC-led political coalition.

“Let me say clearly, Peter Obi is in the coalition,” Abdullahi said while reacting to reports that the PDP is trying to convince Obi to rejoin the party.

According to him, the PDP is only starting to become active again because of ADC’s involvement, but claimed the party is still under the influence of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

“It is good to see that it has taken the coming on board of ADC to get PDP to begin to make some movements. But everyone knows the jugular of the PDP is in the hands of the ruling party,” he said.
