Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has denied rumours that he plans to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

In a statement released on Friday by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the governor described the reports as false and misleading. He insisted that he remains loyal to the PDP and has no intention of switching parties.

“The governor is not in any form of alliance with the ADC or any other political group,” Rasheed said. “He will run and win under the PDP, as he currently enjoys broad-based support from the people of Osun due to his exceptional track record in office.”

Governor Adeleke also stressed that he does not need any other party’s support to win re-election. He said his focus is on delivering more dividends of democracy and building on the progress made so far in his administration.

Rasheed further stated that the PDP in Osun has already declared support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027. He said the party remains united and is working with the national leadership to strengthen its position ahead of future elections.

He added that Governor Adeleke’s popularity is growing across the state, thanks to his performance and people-focused policies.

“The people of Osun are solidly behind Governor Adeleke. They believe in his leadership and are ready to give him another term in 2026,” Rasheed said.

The governor also called on PDP members to stay united and continue mobilizing support to ensure victory in the upcoming election.
