Fear and confusion have taken over Tor-Donga, a community in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State, after gunmen launched a violent attack in the early hours of Friday.
According to eyewitnesses, the attackers arrived on motorcycles and began shooting randomly, forcing residents to flee their homes in panic. The sudden invasion left several people injured, while many others are still missing.
“People were running in all directions. We abandoned our homes and properties; everyone just wanted to stay alive,” one resident who escaped the attack told reporters.
The incident caused widespread panic in the area, with families scattered and many residents now displaced.
As of the time of this report, security agents had not yet fully taken control of the situation, and the exact number of casualties or missing persons was still unclear.
Tor-Donga and other parts of Katsina-Ala have experienced repeated security challenges in recent years, including attacks by armed gangs and communal clashes, leaving many communities vulnerable and afraid.
Residents are now calling on the government and security agencies to act fast and restore peace to the troubled area.
