Self-acclaimed relationship coach, Blessing CEO, has expressed outrage over the arrest of her fiancé, celebrity auto dealer Ikechukwu Ogbonna, popularly known as IVD.
IVD was arrested on Friday at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, by officials from the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions. He was reportedly on his way to Qatar for his wedding with Blessing CEO before being detained.
Blessing CEO took to her Instagram page on Saturday to condemn the arrest, calling it “a game of politics and dirty emotions.” She also described it as illegal and unfair.
“This is a tribal war that has nothing to do with justice. What are you charging IVD for? No case file, no statement,” she wrote.
IVD’s arrest is linked to the 2022 death of his wife, Bimbo Ogbonna, who died from burns sustained during a fire incident in their home in Lekki, Lagos. The Lagos State Government charged him with involuntary manslaughter under case number LD/21055C/23, and the matter is still in court.
Authorities have stated that IVD is not allowed to leave the country until the case is resolved.
The situation has sparked fresh attention on the ongoing legal battle, with public opinion divided over the case and Blessing CEO’s vocal defense of her fiancé.
