Popular auto dealer, Ikechukwu Ogbonna, widely known as IVD, has reportedly been arrested at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, while trying to travel to Qatar ahead of his planned wedding to controversial relationship coach, Blessing CEO.

According to reports, IVD was detained on Friday by officials from the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions. His arrest is linked to an ongoing court case concerning the death of his wife, Bimbo Ogbonna, who died in October 2022 after suffering severe burns during a fire incident in their Lekki home.

Stella Dimoko-Korkus, a well-known blogger, confirmed the arrest on Instagram, saying:

“The domestic violence case involving his late wife is still in court. IVD is not supposed to leave Nigeria until the case is concluded.”

The Lagos State Government had earlier charged IVD with involuntary manslaughter in suit number LD/21055C/23. The charge stems from allegations of domestic violence, which surfaced after Bimbo’s death.
