The Super Eagles have thrown their full support behind Ademola Lookman after the Nigerian forward submitted a transfer request to his Italian club, Atalanta.
Lookman, 27, is reportedly frustrated as Atalanta continues to block his move to Inter Milan. Despite several offers from Inter being rejected by Atalanta, Lookman has decided to force the issue by officially asking for a transfer.
The ongoing tug-of-war has led to Inter threatening to walk away from negotiations, while Lookman took to social media to speak out about his treatment at Atalanta and reaffirm his desire for a new challenge.
In response, the Super Eagles posted a message on their official X account, showing a picture of Lookman with the caption: “We stand with Ademola Lookman. #FreeLookmanNow.”
Lookman, who won the African Footballer of the Year award recently, is hoping to secure a move to Inter Milan ahead of the new season as he aims to boost his career and continue contributing to the national team.
