Super Eagles forward, Ademola Lookman, has officially submitted a transfer request to his club, Atalanta, as he pushes for a move to Italian giants, Inter Milan.
The Nigerian international is reportedly unhappy with Atalanta’s refusal to accept offers from Inter and has now taken matters into his own hands by demanding to leave the club.
This development was confirmed by well-known football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, on Sunday via a post on X (formerly Twitter). Romano stated:
“EXCL: Ademola Lookman has now handed in a transfer request. The Nigerian forward has officially asked Atalanta to leave the club after Italian side rejected Inter opening bid. Lookman wants to join Inter.”
Lookman, who played a key role in Atalanta’s successful 2024 UEFA Europa League campaign—scoring a memorable hat-trick in the final—has become a top transfer target for Inter Milan this summer.
His impressive form for both club and country has made him one of the most sought-after Nigerian players in Europe, and sources suggest Inter sees him as a key piece in their squad rebuild.
As the transfer window continues, all eyes will be on how Atalanta responds to Lookman’s demand and whether a deal can be reached before the window closes.
