In a statement issued on Sunday by the Commission’s spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the PSC made it clear that it has not commenced any recruitment exercise for the Nigeria Police Force this year.
“The Commission has not commenced this exercise and obviously will follow established procedures and processes when it is ready. It hereby advises prospective candidates to ignore the publications and wait for official communication,” the statement said.
Ani described the reports as misleading and mischievous, saying they are designed to deceive and defraud unsuspecting Nigerians.
The PSC also condemned what it called a consistent attempt to fraudulently confuse the public during recruitment seasons. It called on security agencies to go after those behind the fake advertisements and safeguard the integrity of the police recruitment process.
The Commission reassured Nigerians that any official recruitment would be announced through proper and trusted channels, and the process would be open, fair, and in line with established rules.
The public is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious recruitment messages to the appropriate authorities.
