The Kaduna State Police Command has uncovered unexploded military-grade bombs and other dangerous weapons hidden inside a scrap waste consignment brought into the state from Borno.

According to police spokesperson DSP Mansir Hassan, the discovery was made on August 2, 2025, at a scavenger company located in the Kudandan Industrial Area of Kaduna South Local Government Area. The operation followed a credible intelligence report.

A specialised team from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit, led by its commander, was deployed to the scene. After inspecting the items, they confirmed them as unexploded ordnance (UXOs).

The EOD operatives safely evacuated the bombs to a secure area for controlled detonation, following standard safety procedures.

The Commissioner confirmed that an investigation is ongoing to determine the origin of the weapons and the motive behind the movement of the deadly materials into Kaduna.
