Two women have been abducted by armed men in Edogi community, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. on Friday when the attackers stormed the residence of 50-year-old Alhaji Mustapha and kidnapped his two wives — Shafa’u Mustapha and 35-year-old Fauzat Mustapha.

Sources in the area said the gunmen broke into the house under the cover of darkness and escaped with the victims before neighbours could raise an alarm.

The Kwara State Police Command, under Zone 8 Lokoja, confirmed the incident and stated that a joint security team has been deployed in response.

“Security operatives including the police, army, vigilantes, and local hunters have been mobilised to search nearby forests and track down the suspects,” a police spokesperson said.
