The media team of Dr. Kayode Fayemi, former Governor of Ekiti State, has dismissed claims attributed to Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, former Governor of Rivers State, that both men founded the new African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition.

In a statement released on Sunday, Fayemi’s media office said they found no credible evidence, such as videos or reports from reputable media houses, to support Amaechi’s alleged claim. They suggested that Amaechi may have been misquoted or that the claim might be a fabrication aimed at creating confusion.

The statement highlighted that Dr. Fayemi remains a committed member and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State. He has consistently endorsed Governor Biodun Oyebanji for re-election and continues to work towards strengthening the APC’s position in the state.

Fayemi’s media office further clarified that the former governor has been engaged in academic work abroad as a visiting professor and running the Amandla Institute. Despite this, he has remained active in local APC politics, attending leadership meetings and supporting party activities.
