Gunmen Kidnap Six on Taraba Highway

At least six passengers, including five women and a bus conductor, have been abducted by gunmen along the Takum–Katsina Ala Road in Taraba State.

The attack occurred on Sunday morning near Kampo Village, where armed men suspected to be kidnappers intercepted a Toyota Hummer bus belonging to Dan Pullo Transport Company. The bus was reportedly traveling from Rivers State to Gembu when it was forced off the road and diverted into the nearby bush.

Eyewitnesses said the attackers, numbering about six, collected phones, ATM cards, and cash from the passengers, then demanded their PINs. Passengers who provided the correct details were released, while those who either resisted or gave incorrect information were taken away.

“The five women and the bus conductor were taken because they didn’t give the right PINs,” an eyewitness stated.

Local hunters, police patrol teams, and Area Command operatives were deployed to the area shortly after the incident. However, the victims were not immediately found.
