Paris Saint-Germain defender and Morocco international, Achraf Hakimi, has spoken publicly for the first time about the rape allegation against him.

In an interview with Foot Africa, the 26-year-old football star strongly denied the accusations, saying he believes the truth will soon come to light.

“I am calm. Being falsely accused is horrible, unfair. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I know the truth will come out,” Hakimi said. “I have nothing to blame myself for, and those who know me are aware of that.”

The case began in March 2023 when a 24-year-old woman accused Hakimi of rape. According to reports, she claimed that Hakimi invited her to his home in Boulogne-Billancourt, near Paris, while his wife and children were away on holiday.

French prosecutors in Nanterre have now called for the case to proceed to trial, bringing it back into public attention. Despite the serious nature of the case, Hakimi insists he remains focused on his family and football.
