Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma, has confirmed his departure from the club with an emotional farewell message to fans and teammates.
The Italian international made the announcement on Tuesday via his official Instagram page, expressing deep disappointment over the way things ended with the French champions.
“I am disappointed and disheartened,” Donnarumma wrote. “I want you [PSG fans] to know that your support and affection mean the world to me, and I will never forget it.”
The 25-year-old was recently dropped from PSG’s squad for their UEFA Super Cup clash against Tottenham, fueling speculations about his exit. His latest message appears to confirm that his time in Paris has come to an end.
“To my teammates my second family, thank you for every battle, every laugh, every moment we shared. You will always be my brothers,” he added. “Playing for this club and living in this city has been an immense honour. Thank you, Paris.”
Donnarumma joined PSG in 2021 from AC Milan and was part of the team that won multiple domestic titles. His next destination is yet to be officially confirmed.
