The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has petitioned the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, over the recent incident involving popular Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, also known as KWAM 1, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
According to the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the petition was officially received by the police on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.
KWAM 1 was accused of engaging in unruly behaviour at the airport on August 5, allegedly causing an obstruction that affected the safe operation of an aircraft. The NCAA stated that the singer’s actions were in violation of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations, 2023.
In response, the IGP has directed the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Airport Command to begin a full investigation into the matter. The goal, according to the police, is to uncover the exact circumstances that led to the incident and ensure appropriate action is taken.
The aviation authority has emphasized that the safety and orderliness of airport operations must be maintained, regardless of status or fame.
As of press time, KWAM 1 has yet to publicly respond to the allegations.
