    Nollywood Mourns as Chief Kanran Passes On

    The Nigerian film industry has been thrown into mourning following the death of veteran Yoruba actor, Olusegun Akinremi, popularly known as Chief Kanran. He passed away on Friday morning at the age of 70.

    The sad news was confirmed by popular movie producer, Seun Oloketuyi, who announced the actor’s death via Instagram.

    “Popular actor Segun Remi, popularly known as Chief Kanran, died Friday morning,” Oloketuyi wrote.

    Chief Kanran was a household name in the Yoruba movie industry, known for his strong stage presence, comic timing, and deep-rooted storytelling. His career spanned several decades, during which he gained fame for playing both comic and serious roles with ease.

    He was celebrated for his sharp wit and passionate performances, making him a favourite among movie lovers across generations.
