Vice President Kashim Shettima has said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be remembered by history for taking tough but necessary decisions aimed at rebuilding Nigeria’s economy and future.

Speaking at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday, Shettima praised President Tinubu for showing the political will and courage to implement bold reforms, even in the face of hardship and resistance.

“In President Bola Tinubu, you have an ally, a friend who grew up in the same ecosystem as you, who speaks your language of business and commerce, who understands the economic terrain, and most importantly, who has the political courage,” the Vice President said.

He noted that while some of the decisions may be difficult now, they are necessary steps that will bring long-term benefits to the country.

Vice President Shettima reiterated that President Tinubu is fully committed to diversifying Nigeria’s economy, especially by investing in key areas such as agriculture, technology, aviation, and trade.

He cited the President’s recent visit to Brazil, where five important Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed. These covered various sectors including aviation, foreign affairs, science and technology, and agriculture.

According to Shettima, these agreements are not just ceremonial, but part of a clear and deliberate strategy to grow the Nigerian economy, create jobs, and attract foreign investment.

“These were intentional steps by the President to position Nigeria on a path of sustainable economic growth,” Shettima stated.

In another development, the Federal Government is now considering the creation of a special task team to design and implement a national architectural framework. This is aimed at ensuring better planning and standardization in urban and rural development across the country.

The Vice President noted that improving Nigeria’s architectural structure is an important part of national development. The proposed task team will work with professionals and stakeholders in the building industry to produce a coordinated plan for infrastructure development.

This move is part of broader reforms being introduced by the Tinubu-led administration to address the challenges facing Nigeria’s housing, construction, and urban planning sectors.

Shettima assured Nigerians that the Tinubu administration is focused, strategic, and committed to long-term solutions.

“We are not here to play politics with the future of Nigeria. President Tinubu is taking the hard path now, so that the future will be easier for all Nigerians,” he said.

He called on citizens to continue supporting the government through patience and understanding, noting that while the challenges are real, so are the efforts to overcome them.

“Posterity will remember him for the tough choices he made today for a better tomorrow,” Shettima concluded.
