Mr Eazi Owns 18 Businesses Across Africa – Dangote

    Share

Africa’s richest man and Nigerian industrialist, Aliko Dangote, has revealed that singer and entrepreneur Mr Eazi runs businesses in 18 countries across Africa — a fact he only recently discovered.

Dangote made this remark while delivering a speech at the wedding of Mr Eazi and Temi Otedola, daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola. The private ceremony, which took place in Iceland, was attended by close family and friends, with a video of Dangote’s speech going viral shortly after.

In his address, Dangote praised Mr Eazi’s entrepreneurial spirit, expressing admiration for his achievements outside the music industry. He said he was impressed to learn about Mr Eazi’s extensive business interests across the continent.

“I never knew that you have businesses in 18 countries in Africa. I must really congratulate you for being a great guy,” Dangote said.

Mr Eazi, whose real name is Oluwatosin Ajibade, is widely known as a successful musician, but he has also built a reputation in tech and creative industries. He is the founder of emPawa Africa, a talent incubator for African musicians, and has investments in fintech, media, and other sectors across the continent.

Dangote, speaking further, predicted a bright financial future for the couple, suggesting they could someday become the richest people on earth.

“Knowing that the two of you are always very charming, very entrepreneurial, I’m sure in the next few years we will take a back seat and call you the richest people on earth,” he added.

The wedding brought together two of Nigeria’s most prominent families — the Otedolas and the Ajibades and was marked by warmth, laughter, and glowing tributes from family friends and business associates.

In the same speech, Dangote spoke fondly of his longtime friendship with Femi Otedola, who is the chairman of Geregu Power and a major shareholder in First Bank of Nigeria.

“Femi is not only my friend, he is my brother. Where you see me, you see Femi. If there is any brother that I have that is not of the same mother and father, that brother is Femi,” Dangote said, drawing smiles from the guests.

Temi Otedola, a well-known actress and fashion entrepreneur, reportedly dropped her father’s surname after marrying Mr Eazi, officially taking on her husband’s name. The move was seen by many as a symbol of commitment to her new life and family.

Reactions to the wedding and Dangote’s comments have flooded social media, with many Nigerians expressing surprise at Mr Eazi’s lesser-known ventures and applauding his success as a young African entrepreneur.

Despite his fame as a musician, Mr Eazi has often highlighted that business is a key part of his identity. In interviews, he has spoken about combining music and tech, investing in startups, and building platforms that empower African creatives.

The revelation of his presence in 18 countries confirms the scope of his ambition and the diversity of his portfolio  making him not just an entertainer, but a serious businessman.

As Nigeria continues to face economic and social challenges, stories like Mr Eazi’s have been celebrated as examples of youth innovation, cross-industry success, and the potential of African entrepreneurship.
